Welcome to our newly updated website. We plan to keep it current, so
come back and visit us periodically, to keep in touch.
Spring has arrived in the Park. Although it is early, and the winter was mild, it still seems to me to be overdue! Our planning is underway, and our activities begin with the Trail Monitors orientation on Apr. 17. By May, all trails will have been swept.

Meanwhile, you may remember that the Friends (with support from the Park and matching funds from the National Trails Council) financed the construction of 2 new footbridges on the Blue Mountain trail (over Jones Creek and at Mossy Lake). These have now been constructed, on time and within budget. In the process, Acting Superintendent Ben Chabot salvaged a pole that can be used as the base for a new boardwalk over one of the wet areas on the trail. Thanks to Ben for his work on this project.
These improvements will make the hike more enjoyable, and reduce the impact on the forest floor at the edges of the path.
If you’re visiting the Park this summer, we hope you have an enjoyable stay.
